Inside sources tells us that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are about to pay $5 million to buy an island off the coast of Australia for a family retreat. Not yet officially announced, the Australian online paper, News.com.au is reporting that Coldwell Banker Marketing agent Richard Vanhoff revealed yesterday he was in negotiations to sell it to an overseas buyer. The couple are believed to be in negotiations to buy Turtle Island, off the coast of Gladstone in Queensland, Australia. As recently as May of this year, the 9 acre island was listed for $5.7 million, but more recently the asking price was reduced to $5 million. Mr Vanhoff said he did not know what plans the new owner had for the property. When asked if Kardashian or West were the buyers, Mr Vanhoff said “I can’t talk to you about any of that’’. Kardashian, is currently in Australia to launch a new perfume.
The island offers a 6,480 sq ft single-level house that has four bedrooms and five bathrooms, which have views to the east overlooking the surrounding islands and beyond to the Great Barrier Reef. The main house has a large kitchen and entertaining rooms including a pool room and music room. The island has its own private jetty and the house has a guest wing with three separate bedrooms, a lounge room, bathroom and veranda. There is also an in-ground swimming pool and a helipad to make traveling from the mainland quick and easy.
Property records reveal the current owners bought the property in 1999 for $3 million. Many thanks to Coldwell Banker via ‘Supplied’ for the interior shots.
