America Idol Winner Kelly Clarkson is selling her stunning mansion on an exclusive four acre gated waterfront estate! The beautiful home has magnificent views from every window, and all on a quiet wooded cul-de-sac, with private dock, saltwater pool, two spas… so much more!
After more than a year (529 days) on the housing market, Kelly Clarkson is still hoping to sell the 20,121-square-foot mansion for the original $8.75 million price tag.
The home itself hits all the right notes and features a mix of formal and relaxed spaces. The layout opens to a grand foyer, a two-story great room with fireplace, french doors, and mezzanine, plus a formal dining room. The informal quarters include an open kitchen with an adjacent family room, and a casual dining area. The master bedroom includes bay windows overlooking the lake, a chandelier, a fireplace, and a spa-like bath.
The entertaining takes place with a screening room, a kids’ room with built-in bunk beds, and a game room with a “cowboy bar,” which is accessorized with horse saddle stools. Outside, a split staircase from the balcony leads to a pool, covered dining area, and private lake access, plus a dock.

But how is it still on the market? The price may be a factor. Sure, most of us can’t shell out millions for a new home, even if it does have seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. But it’s far from being the priciest home out there.
The listing price is roughly three times what Kelly and hubby Brandon Blackstock paid when they bought it in 2013 ($2.86 million, the site reports).
While the singer recently bought a custom-built estate in Encino, CA, for $8.5 million, the status of the Tennessee property she personally revamped hasn’t budged.
When asked by Realtor.com if the house was a stale listing, “Hardly”, said listing agent Jack Miller. “At that price range, it’s [still] a fresh listing,” he says. In fact, he instructs his clients in the area to expect a sale to take a few years, not a few months, for multi-million dollar properties.
Buying the place for $2.86 million – even with the renovations that she and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, put into it, there’s still plenty of room for a profit at the current price.
“It’s a matter of being on the market when that buyer comes through. It’s just a function of the market we live in,” Miller says.
The seven-bedroom mansion currently holds the title of most expensive listing in Hendersonville. According to the Realtor.com® director of economic research, Javier Vivas, ultraluxury homes in the Nashville metro (priced over $3.1 million) stay on the market an average of 92 to 199 days. That’s three to six times longer than a typical home in the hot Nashville market.
For Clarkson’s top-of-the-market home, there’s simply a smaller pool of local buyers to attract. So the search will have to broaden beyond Nashville, and that adds more time to the equation.
On the other side, her home doesn’t have much competition. As of now, there are only nine single family homes listed above $8 million in Nashville.
And although the house has now been on the market for over a year, “It’s not atypical for a home like this to remain on the market,” says Vivas. For properties priced over $8 million, the median “days on market” for Nashville is 292 days, so this property is far from an outlier.
It takes just one wealthy executive or famous musician to walks through the well-appointed door and make an offer on the home. It’s an area that’s been home to many legends, including Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Taylor Swift.
